From the Author:
I’m a Pakistani-American woman who has lived in the States her entire life but has been to Pakistan enough times to know what Pakistani dishes taste like. I know what Pakstani dishes are supposed to taste like, but I also know that it isn’t easy for us “amreeki” Pakistanis to achieve that flavor. Especially with our moms and grand-moms “eyeballing” everything and “just knowing” when it’s right.
So here’s me trying to put a measurement on the eyeballing and the just knowing. This is an effort to make it easy for those of us just stepping into the kitchen for the first time (and also for the seasoned cooks who just want to try a different style of cooking). Whether you’re American, Pakstani, Indian, or any other ethnicity – this recipe book is simple enough to walk you through those complicated-looking desi (south asian) dishes, and it has all been passed down from the authentic cooking hands of our high-revered moms and grand-moms (with my own hacks to make life easier, of course).
Obviously, please note that these recipes have been tested, tried, and personalized. They originate particularly from the Sindh area in Pakistan, so the style and taste is similar to dishes from that area.
